Changing Lines in Your I Ching Online Reading
How this site treats 6, 7, 8, 9 and multiple moving lines.
Line values
- 6 — old yin (changing yin → yang), probability 1/8
- 7 — young yang (stable yang), probability 3/8
- 8 — young yin (stable yin), probability 3/8
- 9 — old yang (changing yang → yin), probability 1/8
Display policy: all-moving-lines-v1
We show the primary hexagram, every changing line in order from bottom to top, and the relating hexagram when at least one line changes. We do not hide secondary moving lines behind a proprietary “main line” rule.
Relating hexagram
After changing lines flip, the new figure is the relating hexagram (之卦). Use it as associated context — not as “your fixed future.”
Use of Nines / Use of Sixes
999999 (Qian → Kun) and 666666 (Kun → Qian) also surface the classical Use of Nines / Use of Sixes notes as supplementary reading, without removing the six line texts.
